Important Message: 2024-2025 FAFSA update
There has been a nationwide delay in the processing of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2024-25 academic year. This issue is affecting institutions across the country which has affected the usual timeline for FAFSA application processing. We understand the importance of these funds for your education and are in close communications with the appropriate federal agencies to provide the most up-to-date information.
The purpose of the Financial Aid Office at Cuesta College is to provide financial aid assistance and eligibility awareness to all current and prospective students as they pursue their educational goals. Financial aid is money that helps pay for the cost of education (college fees, books and supplies). Paying for the cost of a college education requires a partnership among parents, students and the college.
News and Announcements
- Check Your Financial Aid Status: After you apply for Financial Aid, log into your myCuesta student portal to check on the status of your financial aid file and see what are the next steps.
- Disbursements: We disburse aid on Tuesday of every week -- with the exception school closures and federal holidays that land on a Tuesday. Aid is not distributed the weeks of Spring Break, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
- Aid will not be distributed on 7/2/24 due to the Independence Day Holiday.
- We are actively reviewing financial aid files for 2023-2024 school years. If you have already submitted documents, please give 3-4 weeks for us to get to your file.
- FAFSA Priority Deadline extended May 2, 2024
- You can still submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act Application

- 2023-2024 FAFSA Deadline: June 30, 2024. The last day to submit a 2023-2024 FAFSA
- 2023-2024 CA Dream Act Deadline: June 30, 2024. The last day to submit a 2023-2024 CA Dream Act application.
- Spring 2024 SAP Appeal Deadline: May 17, 2024
- Summer 2024 SAP Appeal Deadline: July 5, 2024
- Fall 2024 SAP Appeal Deadline: November 27, 2024
- Spring 2025 SAP Appeal Deadline: May 9, 2025
- Summer 2024 SAP Appeal Deadline: June 27, 2025
