Hello Colleagues,

We wanted to share with you the very productive work that was accomplished at the Educational Master Plan Addendum workshop last Monday, March 12. We had over 50 individuals attend from across campus and the North County. We want to thank each and every one of the participants for their contributions and excellent work.

In the workshop we reviewed and analyzed data in three different areas; Community, Student Profile, and Student Success. Following this review and data analysis, groups brainstormed and developed 1-2 challenges for the district based on the data presented. Following this activity, groups reviewed all of the identified challenges for each data set, brainstormed and developed 1 institutional goal to address each area (Community, Student profile, and Student Success).

The following morning a group of individuals from the Accreditation Steering Committee had a phone conference with our consultant Eva Conrad to coalesce all the goals into five institutional goals. Eva was extremely helpful in advising us on how to take the great ideas from Monday's workshop and put them into goal language. As noted at the Monday workshop, we also added a goal related to the district's intent to follow, assess, and improve its integrated planning processes and to demonstrate to our accrediting commission the district's commitment to planning.

The attached documents include the data sets and the results of the great work produced by those who attended Monday's Educational Master Plan Addendum workshop. The results indicate the challenges that were identified, the defined goals, which have now evolved into five institutional goals. The work described in this document will be the basis for the first draft of potential institutional objectives, which will be discussed and refined at the Strategic Plan Workshop, next Wednesday, March 21st. Our consultant, Eva Conrad, will be here to facilitate this workshop and help us develop objectives that are measurable and aligned with our institutional goals.

We hope you will be able to attend this workshop (information below) even if only for a short period of time. Following this workshop we will be sure to update you on the status of our Strategic Plan.

We hope to see you there, everyone is invited:
