Dear Colleagues,

Kevin and I wanted to send out one last update before we head into summer. So far we have completed everything we set out to accomplish since February. Last Friday, May 11, the Academic Senate reviewed and approved/endorsed the following items:

On May 22, the Board of Trustees will be holding a special off-cycle meeting to review 2012-2014 Strategic Plan, 2010-2013 Strategic Plan Progress Report, Equal Employment Opportunity Plan, Resource Development Plan, 2012-2014 Enrollment Management Plan, 2012-2017 Technology Plan Update. Just as a reminder, the Board of Trustees does not approve operational plans. On June 6th, the Board will review the Fiscal Plan and hopefully, approve the EEO Plan (approval mandated by Title V).

Although there is cause for celebration for all the work everyone has accomplished in the last three months, there is still a lot of work ahead of us. Attached is the Accreditation Summer To-Do List, to give you an idea of what we will be working on over the summer and what will need to completed in the Fall.

In addition to implementing and following our integrated planning manual, the College must also complete the follow-up, closure, and proficiency reports, by October 15, 2012. We will need to begin work on the development of our next comprehensive self evaluation, which is due in 2014, so please consider signing up for the Accreditation Steering Committee.

Be sure to attend Opening Day on Friday, August 17th, we will be talking more about next steps for accreditation and also beginning the campus-wide training and dialog on our new integrated planning model.

We encourage you to attend the Committees, Governance, and Integrated Planning Workshop scheduled on Thursday, August 16 from 9-12 in room 5402. This workshop is for everyone and especially for individuals who will be serving on a college governance committee (i.e. College Council, Planning & Budget, Enrollment Management, Accreditation Steering Committee, Institutional Effectiveness Committee, Strategic Planning Committee, Academic Senate Council, etc.), especially committee co-chairs, to learn about the college governance structure, committee responsibilities, reporting lines of authority and how the work of committees interacts with the district's new integrated planning processes. Remember, all are welcome to attend the workshop. 

Lastly, Kevin and I would like to thank everyone for your support and assistance these last few months. We know this time has been extremely busy and stressful for everyone, but we could not have accomplished everything we did without all of you. Please make an effort to find some time to relax and thank yourself for all you do for Cuesta.
