October 4, 2012

Dear Colleagues,

On Monday October 1st the Accreditation Steering Committee gave its last input to the Show Cause Report.  These edits were incorporated and presented to the Board of Trustees last night.  The Board approved the Show Cause and Closure Reports (Yeah!!) and currently, we are gathering the evidence to link within the Show Cause Report.  A big thank you to all who are helping with this important task.  Late today, the documents will be sent to the editor for final cleanups; a review of the edits will take place this weekend and then the documents will be sent to the printers on Monday.  The reports and will be sent to ACCJC on Thursday, October 11.

The Board also reviewed the Status Report and was ecstatic to hear the college is 100% proficient.  Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to our students’ success.

As promised, attached is our next educational piece highlighting some of the work the district has accomplished in relationship to Recommendations 2, 6, and 7.  Not to sound like a broken record, but it is important that as a campus we are all well informed for the five member visiting team on October 29-30th.

To learn more, please attend the Accreditation Overview Training on Wednesday, October 10th from 12:30 – 1:30 in room 5401.   At this training we will be reviewing the highlights and key elements we have developed, implemented, and written about in our Show Cause Report. We will also take time to answer (or attempt to) any questions you may have.

It is hard to believe how far, we as a college, have come in the last eight months.  Everything that the district has accomplished and implemented could not have happened without all the dedication, feedback, support and effort of all of you.

Thanks again for everything you do. We hope to see you on Wednesday, October 10.

Respectfully,

Kevin and Deb
