Dear Colleagues,

With the end of the Fall semester here, we thought we would touch bases and let you know where we are with our accreditation efforts. As usual, it’s been a busy semester. One of the most significant accomplishments this semester was the completion of our Follow-up Report, which was submitted to ACCJC last October. We also had a very positive and complementary site visit by Dr. Rodriquez and Dr. Conyers on November 5. Like you, we are anxiously waiting the decision and official letter from ACCJC (sometime in early February) that will hopefully indicate we are sanction free and our accreditation has been fully re-affirmed.

Many individuals have also been busily working on the drafts of the standards for our 2014 Comprehensive Self-Evaluation Report and these have been vetting through some of our governance committees for feedback. Since our 2014 Comprehensive Self-Evaluation Report is due in June 2014, we will begin vetting the entire report in early Spring. Just to prepare you, this report will most likely be in excess of 300 pages. Although a lot has been accomplished, and June 2014 may seem like a long way away, there is still a lot that needs to be done. Like we’ve done in the past, it will take all of us to see that this work gets completed. Our goal is to submit the best report we can to ensure we come out of this next comprehensive evaluation cycle as clean as possible, without any sanctions.

In the meantime, we wish everyone a happy holiday and hope you enjoy this time with family and friends. We look forward to celebrating with all of you in February.

Happy Holidays!
