Cuesta TV will broadcast Wednesday’s Cuesta College wrestling match against Fresno City College, the 2010 and 2011 state champions, live at 7 p.m. on Charter channel 19.

In addition, the match — Cuesta’s only home dual meet of the season — will stream live online from Cuesta's gym at http://www.network1sports.com/station/cuesta.

The Fresno meet will be replayed later on channel 19, the county’s education access channel. Cuesta College content airs Saturday and Sunday from 1-5 p.m. and during the week starting at 6 p.m.

Cuesta TV is a collaboration between instructor John Arno and his broadcast communication students, San Luis Obispo County Office of Education and the college’s marketing and communications office.

Other upcoming sporting broadcasts will air live on Charter channel 19 as well. These include:

  • Volleyball vs. Allan Hancock, Oct. 19, 7 p.m.
  • Men and women's water polo v. Citrus College, Oct. 24, 3 and 4 p.m. respectively
  • Two basketball games are scheduled in November

In addition, Arno and his students will tape Cuesta Sports Monthly, with the college’s Sports Information Director Peter Schuler interviewing Cuesta coaches and athletes. Episodes will air on channel 19 in October, November and December.

Cuesta grapplers kicked off their 2012 season on the road last week. The Cougars wrestled West Hills College in a dual meet Friday followed on Saturday where they competed in the Sacramento Tournament. Cuesta was led by division champions Matthew Correa (Righetti High) and Jonathon Urango (Camarillo High) at 125 and 174, respectively and freshman Goeff Merker (Camino), who placed second in the 197-pound division.
