Student paramedics will celebrate their completion of the Central Coast Paramedic Program at Cuesta College on Friday, September 7 at 6 p.m.

The celebration ceremony will honor 19 paramedic students. Two students, Kyle Conforti and Patrick McDonald, were selected by their classmates to be student speakers. CAL FIRE Chief Rob Lewin will be the keynote speaker.

Lewin was appointed chief of the CAL FIRE San Luis Obispo unit in December 2010. He oversees approximately 3,200 square miles of land in San Luis Obispo County, including more than 600 employees, 21 fire stations, two conservation camps, an air attack base and an emergency command center.

The Central Coast Paramedic Program prepares working students to take the licensing exam for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Paramedic (NREMTP) to become a licensed California paramedic.

The celebration ceremony will be held in the Associated Students Auditorium, Room 5401 at Cuesta College. Free parking will be available in lots 2 and 3 during the ceremony.
