Cuesta College’s 2013 Book of the Year will host its second annual Wine Down Wednesday at Vintage 1255 in downtown San Luis Obispo on Sept. 19 from 4-8 p.m.

The fundraiser is a benefit for the Cuesta Book of the Year that will bring author Vanessa Diffenbaugh to the college’s Cultural and Performing Arts Center on Feb. 27 to discuss her best-seller “The Language of Flowers.” Proceeds will also assist local foster youth.

Stop by for a preview of the Book of the Year events that begin in February of 2013. This popular annual event will feature a films series, lectures and a lecture by the author.

Diffenbaugh, a foster parent, shares her in-depth knowledge of a flawed foster-care system in the 2011 novel as well as her hopes for young people who have never known love or a stable living situation.

Wine Down Wednesday will feature prize drawings.
