The Cuesta College Art Gallery is gearing up to host an exhibit featuring sculptures by Diana Puntar, who is currently an Assistant Professor of Fine Arts/Sculpture at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. The exhibit will run from February 28th through March 21st with an opening reception on Friday, February 28th from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. An artist talk is scheduled for Wednesday, March 5th at noon in the Gallery.

The exhibit, titled Glossolalia, meaning “speaking in tongues,” is Puntar’s first solo exhibition in California. The works in Glossolalia are inspired by and, in some cases, made from parts of previous sculptures. Puntar, a native New Yorker, moved to the Central Coast from Brooklyn, New York, in August of 2012. In November of 2012, hurricane Sandy destroyed most of Puntar’s life’s works that were housed in a storage space in New York City. Glossolalia is a reconsideration of previous ideas and lost works.

The Cuesta College Art Gallery is open 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. It is located on the San Luis Obispo Campus in room 7170.
