A circuit breaker that failed has knocked out electricity to portions of the Student Center and two classrooms on Cuesta College’s San Luis Obispo campus.

The outage, reported Thursday about 2 p.m., still affect the Bookstore, cafeteria, Building 1700, which contains the classrooms, and the softball field scoreboard, officials said at 9 a.m. Friday. The bookstore is closed Fridays.

The problem occurred in a breaker box of a building erected in 1975. An official said the problem was age-related. Work is underway to restore power.

The campus remains open and affected classes have been relocated.
