Cuesta College is doing its part to support local veterans attending college. The school, in partnership with the California Community College Student Mental Health Program, will host “Welcome Home: Veterans on Campus.” The seminar will provide increased awareness about the signs and symptoms of veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury and depression so that participants can better understand how these conditions might impact student success in the classroom and on campus. A panel of student veterans will also provide information and feedback on their experiences as veterans on a college campus.

The no-cost training will take place on the college’s San Luis Obispo campus on Oct. 14th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in room 5401.

The training is designed for college staff and faculty as well as community and county-based organizations involved with mental health issues. Registration is required and can be completed by visiting this link http://conta.cc/1bfdWOc.
