Cuesta College’s student club Active Minds and Student Health Center invite students, faculty, staff and the public to attend the first ever Winter Wellness, an event intended to celebrate wellness during the winter season. The event will be held on Monday, December 9, from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the Associated Student Center building (room 5401) on the San Luis Obispo Campus.

“The idea for the event came directly from the Active Minds club members who felt it was important to increase awareness about mental wellness during the holiday season,” said Wellness Arts Program Coordinator Kelsey Kehoe. “Instead of simply having a lecture about the ‘holiday blues,’ they decided to have an interactive resource fair with each resource leading a fun activity.”

The Student Health Center will lead cookie decorating, the Active Minds Club will lead crafting/art projects, the Transitions Mental Health Association will lead dance and drumming circles and the Associated Students of Cuesta College will have a hot chocolate decorating station.  There will also be a winter-themed photo booth for students to take pictures with their friends.  The event falls during the week before finals in order to provide a much-needed respite for students. Food and giveaways will also be available.
