Q:
How do we get a separate domain name for a Cuesta department or
entity?
The
procedure for securing a domain name (eg: www.cuestaentity.org)
for a Cuesta College related entity is as follows:
- Entities
requesting a domain name must provide a written request for approval
of the domain name to the Web Executive Board (W.E.B.) stating
the name they would like to secure, and the reason for needing
a separate domain name.
- Requests
must come from a manager or dean.
- Approved
requests are processed through Computer Services for securing
of the domain name by a domain registrar. Cost of securing and
maintaining the domain is the responsibility of the entity requesting
the domain name. Administrator and technical contact on the Network
Solutions agreement statement for the domain name will be the
director of Computer Services.
We
cannot guarantee a link from the Cuesta web site if the above procedures
are not followed.
