Speedy Addresses in Outlook

Q:        Is there an easier way to enter Cuesta addresses in an e-mail?

A:         There you sit, hunched in front of your PC, thinking to yourself, “Is Bill Smith’s address ‘bsmith@cuesta.edu’ or ‘wsmith@cuesta.edu’. Or perhaps it’s ‘Smyth’, or ‘Smithe’, or…!” Panic sets in as the list of possible combinations grows.

The good news is that when addressing e-mail to “Cuesta coworkers” (a.k.a. anyone with a Cuesta e-mail address), Outlook will allow you to just type that person’s name. In fact, you can even enter a portion of the person’s name and, if unique, Outlook will find it for you.

For example, when typing “Sean L” in the To field of a new e-mail, Outlook will automatically find “Sean Landers” when the e-mail is sent.

If the name typed is not unique, Outlook will underline the name in red. Double-clicking on the underlined text will display a list of possible names to choose from.
