Art Gallery Mission Statement

The Cuesta College Art Gallery presents an annual, juried student exhibition and a changing selection of exhibitions by professional local, national, and international visual artists. Exhibitions are contemporary in content and reflect the educational goals of the Fine Arts programs. The Art Gallery course involves students in the installation and professional practices of the exhibitions and various aspects of gallery management. Through stimulating exhibitions and events the gallery program strives to promote dialogue and engagement between the programs in Fine Arts, Cuesta College students and staff, and the community.

The Cuesta College Art Gallery, room 7170, is located on Highway 1, halfway between San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay in the courtyard of the Cultural and Performing Arts Center. Admission to the gallery is free.

We have quite an exciting schedule for the Art Gallery during the Spring 2014 semester!  Richard Phipps, one of our own faculty, will kick-off the semester on January 24.  Diana Puntar, a faculty member at Cal Poly, will follow and our Student Show, always a favorite, will culminate the semester.

Exhibition Dates

This semester we will be having the artist's lectures on the Wednesday's after the openings beginning at 11:30 am.  Please bring a "brown bag" lunch and we will supply the dessert!  The lectures will begin at noon in the Art Gallery.
