Cuesta College and the Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County Women’s Legacy Fund are excited to announce open nominations for the prestigious 40th Annual Women of Distinction Awards. The purpose of the awards is to celebrate Women’s History Month (March) and recognize the contributions women have made in the areas of volunteering in the community, their profession and in philanthropy.

The four award categories are:

 

  • Progress for Women Award
  • Community and Public Service Award – Professional Award
  • Community and Public Service Award – Volunteer Award
  • Grace N. Mitchell Lifetime Achievement Award

 

“The Cuesta College Foundation is excited to once again partner with the Women’s Legacy Fund and this year celebrate 40 years of recognizing the achievements of women in our county,” said Shannon Hill, executive director of the Cuesta College Foundation/Advancement.

“There are so many women in the local area who work tirelessly helping others, in their professional careers and personal lives," said Mary Verdin, president of Verdin Marketing and co-chairperson of the Women of Distinction Planning Committee. “We encourage the community to nominate those women who go above and beyond to make our county great.”

The awards ceremony will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Cuesta College’s San Luis Obispo Campus in Building 5400, Room 5401. Food, wine and coffee will be served.
