DESCRIPTION: Exhibition Opening for Vanished - A Chronicle of Discovery and Loss Across Half a Million Years at the Harold J Miossi Art Gallery.

Vanished: A Chronicle of Loss and Discovery across Half a Million Years is an investigation of four vanished icons that persist as powerful ideas. It’s a transdisciplinary project with two visual artists, a philosopher, a creative writer, a volcanologist, and a graphic designer. Collectively, they explore what’s been lost and consider how we assemble the past through fact, fiction, and myth. Their results are an interconnected collection of new and historic photographs, illustrations, sculpture, sound, and writing. Heather Altfeld, creative writer Oliver Hutton, graphic designer Troy Jollimore, philosopher Sheri Simons, sculptor Dr. Rachel Teasdale, volcanologist Byron Wolfe, photographer, Project Director.
