Phlebotomy Program Information
Phlebotomy (MAST 109) is an 18 week (1 semester) program, offered in the fall and spring semesters at both our SLO County campus and North County campus (NCC) in Paso Robles. This 3.5 credit certificate program consists of MAST 109 & MAST 109L which are corequisites.
MAST 109 (Lecture/Classroom Skills - 2.5 credits)
Prepares the student in essential blood specimen collecting skills to fulfill state
phlebotomy certificate requirements.
MAST 109L (Clinical Externship - 1.0 credits)
Provides students the opportunity of a clinical externship to apply knowledge and
skills to an acute and/or ambulatory care laboratory setting.
SCHEDULE
Phlebotomy students attend lectures, complete skills lab practice and participate in clinical externship hours. Class meets on Tuesdays, with time depending on which MAST 109/ MAST 109L session you register for. Clinical externship placements and schedules are determined by the Phlebotomy instructor.
