EMS Programs Mission Statement

The mission of the Cuesta College EMS Program is to provide the highest educational standards for students preparing to become prehospital care providers in a supportive learning environment. We strive to teach our students the highest quality of prehospital emergency care, with the expectation that each will practice the same standard of excellence that we hold for ourselves. We aspire to impart the importance of providing professional, non-discriminatory care for all people in their time of crisis. Our goal is to have our graduates enter their public servant careers as competent, ethical, and confident entry-level health care practitioners who are committed to professional development through lifelong learning.

We are pleased to announce that we now have an in-house Academic Counselor. For information on registration process, program pre-requisites, how to become a student at Cuesta, priority registration status, course equivalencies, student education plans, degrees, or transferring to or from Cuesta, please contact Danny Lynch, at Counseling at (805) 546-3138 or walk-in within the 3100 building, Student Services.

For other information about our programs, contact the Allied Health Program Specialist, Claire Hawkins at or (805) 592-9283.
