The Cuesta College LVN program is a full time program that requires a commitment of rigorous study for 3 semesters. This program is offered on our North County campus in Paso Robles, CA.  Students attend classes and clinical rotations 5 days a week for 6-9 hours each day and are expected to maintain a flexible schedule in order to accommodate the scheduling demands of the clinical rotations. Students must have reliable transportation and be prepared to potentially drive as far south as Arroyo Grande and as far north as King City.

Licensing Exam and Pass Rates

The LVN program prepares students for entry-level vocational nursing positions in a variety of healthcare settings. Upon completion of the program, graduates are eligible to take the National Vocational Nursing Licensure examination (NCLEX-PN). Passing this exam is required to be employed as a Licensed Vocational Nurse, and must be taken at the applicant's expense, upon successful completion of all program requirements. NCLEX-PN Pass Rates

The next online LVN application date and concurring LVN application instructions will be posted on the nursing website after July 2021.

Program Eligibility

All persons who submit a complete online LVN application during the current application acceptance period, and who meet the general Cuesta College admission requirements, LVN program prerequisites and additional LVN program admission criteria are eligible for admission into the LVN Program.

NOTE:  Conviction of a misdemeanor or felony may constitute grounds for denial of licensure.  Meet with the Director of Nursing to discuss any concerns before applying to the program.

Class Selection

30 students are admitted to the LVN program in the fall semester every August. If there are more eligible applicants than available seats, a computerized random selection of all the eligible applicants will be used to determine admission.  There is no waiting list for the LVN program.  Applicants not admitted in a current admission cycle must re-apply in a future application period.
