Vegetables are the edible parts of plants and are loaded with minerals, vitamins, and fiber. Among the benefits, vegetables help to control our appetite and consequently can assist with weight loss strategies. In addition, they are lower in calories and help to reduce the risk of certain cancers and diseases. Fibrous vegetables slow down how fast glucose is absorbed in the body lowers blood glucose levels and simultaneously decreases cholesterol. Vegetables are a basic part of the Mediterranean Diet and we can enjoy all the benefits with some simple delicious recipes. Come prepared for a hands-on experience with Italian instructor, Michael Auriemma.
Class will be held in the Cuesta College Community Programs 4700 building. Please bring your own apron and/or chef's jacket. A $5 materials fee will be payable to instructor in class.
