Vegetables are the edible parts of plants and are loaded with minerals, vitamins, and fiber. Among the benefits, vegetables help to control our appetite and consequently can assist with weight loss strategies. In addition, they are lower in calories and help to reduce the risk of certain cancers and diseases. Fibrous vegetables slow down how fast glucose is absorbed in the body lowers blood glucose levels and simultaneously decreases cholesterol. Vegetables are a basic part of the Mediterranean Diet and we can enjoy all the benefits with some simple delicious recipes. Come prepared for a hands-on experience with Italian instructor, Michael Auriemma.
Class will be held in the commercial kitchen at the San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden Education Center, 3450 Dairy Creek Rd. Follow Dairy Creek Road past the softball fields and park across from the red brick colored buildings.
Please bring your own apron and/or chef's jacket. A $5 materials fee will be payable to instructor in class.
