The Power of Language
Language is surely the single most essential trait of human existence. Language, in terms of grammatical structure and vocabulary content, both names and describes what human beings perceive and create as material and social reality. Our focus will be upon exploring some of the ways in which language can, over time, manifest an ever-changing social reality, including the values, norms and status positions within society.
