Creative Close-up Photography
This inspiring course takes you on an exciting journey into the world of close-up
photography. Along with nature subjects, we'll discuss intriguing non-nature subjects,
too -- ones that will have you saying, "How could I have ever overlooked these!?!"
In fact, you'll be amazed by just how many photogenic close-up encounters you'll find
at every turn, whether you have an everyday lens or a specialized macro lens. Topics:
Developing your intimate vision, mastering depth of field and focusing, appreciating
the art of selective focus, understanding natural light, and experimenting with composition.
Classroom sessions involve instructional slide shows, assignments, critiques and discussions.
Emphasis is on natural light and on capturing images "in-camera" without major post-processing.
Equipment: digital camera with adjustable controls, and a lens (or lenses) that extends
from wide-angle to telephoto. Although macro photography will be covered, a macro
lens is NOT necessary for any assignments. A tripod is recommended. NOTE: For upper
beginner through advanced; a basic knowledge of shutter speed, F/stops and ISO is
advisable.
