Try Adding Nature to Your Writing!
If you’re seeking ways to add depth and detail to your fiction and nonfiction writing, try adding a little nature! Local naturalist and lead instructor for the UCANR California Naturalist Program Michele Roest recently completed a Master’s degree in Creative Writing with an emphasis in Nature Writing. She’s eager to share fun and easy tips for adding elements of the natural world to your writing practice. Be prepared to respond to writing prompts, brainstorm ideas and download handouts on ways to add nature as a compelling element to backdrops, descriptions and dialogue.
