The Giant World of the Short Story
Through reading some of the greats' short stories and writing our own ideas and scenes, we will explore the potent and accessible craft of shorter fiction. Compressed narratives, where everything is essential from the first sentence, are fertile ground for well-honed themes and characters. From a few lines of flash fiction to the upper limits of a short story, we will also survey the publishing world of magazines and collections where one might send their little gems.
