Historical European Martial Arts: Italian Unarmed Combat
This section will introduce students to the medieval unarmed combat system of Fiore dei Liberi. Published in 1409, Fiore’s fight manual “The Flower of Battle” presents simple and highly effective self-defense principles that are applicable in the modern world. Concepts of movement, balance, guards, strikes, locks, holds, and throws will be covered. Principles presented in this class are general enough for students with no martial arts background yet insightful to experienced practitioners of other systems.
Drop-in available for $20. If you decide to become part of the class, this amount will be deducted from your course enrollment fee. Monthly payment plans available.
