Ages 6 - 9 years
GIRLS and BOYS: join us as we create and play with simple machines, energy, and forces!
Transform your energy into an amazing, swinging, dinging, snapping, rolling, sliding contraption of your own invention! Modify and develop your “Rube Goldberg” chain-reaction machine all week. Take it home Friday, to share with family and friends at home. You keep what you can successfully incorporate into your system: mousetraps, pulleys, toy cars, marbles, balloons, birthday candles, and more.
Every day you'll acquire knowledge regarding types of energy: elastic, magnetic, electrical, mechanical, sound, light, and chemical as you're allowed to explore with energy-laden doohickeys. Be prepared to harness your "superpowers" using levers, ramps, and other simple machines. Above all, go home every day empowered with new STEM abilities, and fond memories of the times you will have with your new—and old—Science-Dipity friends from home-schools, private schools, and public schools.

INSTRUCTOR: Tim Baker founded Science-Dipity in 2005 in order to satisfy his enthusiasm for exploring natural phenomenon–sometimes referred to as “doing science.” Mr. Baker has been doing this since receiving his first “bug catcher” at the age of six. After a lifetime of exploration, he created something that could feed his adventurous spirit AND put food on the table: Science-Dipity.
A career in environmental education, archaeology, elementary education, along with some stints retail, guided Mr. Baker in believing that a living could be made guiding children through experiences in science. Science-Dipity is the product of those life experiences.
