Summer Residency 2018
Industry of the Ordinary Summer School Residency
Industry of the Ordinary (IOTO) will lead a three week, intensive residency for 12 students culminating in a group show at a downtown SLO location. No experience is required, but students should have an interest in contemporary art practice in general and performance, installation, photography and/or video in particular. There will also be the opportunity to work collaboratively with other residents.
IOTO will provide a comprehensive presentation of contemporary art across a range of media as well as lead workshops in performance, installation, documentation and video strategies. After group presentations, discussions and workshops, IOTO will work intensively one-on-one with each student to develop their concepts and fine tune presentation strategies.
The dates for this residency program are July 21 - August 11, with the final performance/installation evening taking place on August 11.
