CalWORKs offers a variety of services to assist students in achieving their educational and employment goals with a focus on transitioning off welfare to long-term financial self-sufficiency.

  • Assistance with compliance of your Welfare-to-Work (WTW) or Self-Initiated (SIP) plan
  • Case management services
  • Guidance in applying to the college, financial aid, and registration for classes
  • Help with CalWORKs Scholarship application
  • Employment to meet required work activities through work study or job placement
  • Development of a résumé and a job search portfolio
  • Referrals to additional supportive services, on or off campus as needed
  • Advocacy and education regarding Rights and Responsibilities issues
