The Financial Aid Office oversees veterans services to assist veterans, reservists, and dependents of service-connected disabled or deceased veterans with their educational benefits. We provide assistance with completing and filing VA claim forms for federal and state education assistance programs.
Students must get certified every semester by making an appointment to meet with the VA Certifying Official. Under the Chapter listed on your left, review the steps to complete to be certified at Cuesta College, which includes transferring from another school where you have used VA benefits. Each Chapter also has the steps to follow if you have changed your major at Cuesta.
The Veterans Resource Center (VRC) is the heart of the college's veteran community and serves as a gathering place for academic support, student learning and a space for veterans to have camaraderie and connect with other Veterans. Veterans from all branches of service are welcome and can expect to receive professional, courteous, and compassionate support as they pursue their educational and vocational goals at Cuesta College. The VRC is a space where all who enter can feel respected.
The VRC provides the following services in a one-stop location:
- Certifying Officials (VA and Educational)
- Veterans Orientation
- Priority Registration
- Veterans Club and Support
- Computer lab and printers
- Study Area
- Free Coffee and Snacks
- Free Semester Parking Permits - attend the Veterans Orientation Session in Fall and get free parking for Spring.
In Spring, attend the Veterans and Family Resource Fair and get free parking for Fall.
