There has been a nationwide delay in the processing of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2024-25 academic year. This issue is affecting institutions across the country which has affected the usual timeline for FAFSA application processing. We understand the importance of these funds for your education and are in close communications with the appropriate federal agencies to provide the most up-to-date information.
FAFSA and CA Dream Act Applications have been received by Cuesta College. Students will receive notifications the week ending of 6/21/24 regarding the status of their applications. Due to ongoing FAFSA processing delays, files that are selected for verification by the Department of Education, needing corrections or updates cannot be processed for eligibility at this time. Once we receive further information from the Department of Education regarding verification processing we will provide an update.
The purpose of the Financial Aid Office at Cuesta College is to provide financial aid assistance and eligibility awareness to all current and prospective students as they pursue their educational goals. Paying for the cost of a college education requires a partnership among parents, students, and the college. As the cost of higher education continues to rise, we want you to know that Cuesta College offers a full array of financial aid programs—grants, work-study, scholarships, federal direct loan programs, and fee waivers. These programs are available to both full and part-time students who are seeking a degree or certificate. For those who qualify, financial aid is available to help with tuition, fees, books and supplies.
