Cuesta College overhead

SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, Calif. – Cuesta College is entering the Spring 2026 semester with growing enrollment, continued investment in local students, and momentum across its campuses—reflecting strong demand for accessible, high-quality education throughout San Luis Obispo County.

For Paso Robles native Jailyn Campos, this spring represents progress and possibility. Campos chose Cuesta College for the opportunity to pursue her education close to home while keeping costs manageable.

Through the Cuesta Promise, Campos’ enrollment fees were covered, removing financial barriers and allowing her to focus on her academic goals. She is now working toward transferring to Cal Poly—confident, motivated, and supported by a community invested in her success.

The Cuesta Promise covers enrollment fees for eligible local students during their first two years of college. Expanded to include summer tuition coverage in Summer 2025, the program supports year-round access and helps students stay on track toward their educational goals.

Local students eligible for the Cuesta Promise planning to attend Cuesta College in Summer or Fall 2026 should submit their admissions application by June 1 for summer enrollment or August 1 for fall enrollment. Additional scholarship support is available, and all incoming and current students are encouraged to complete the scholarship application by March 2, 2026.

Enrollment Growth and Campus Momentum
This spring, Cuesta College is experiencing strong engagement across its campuses, with increased enrollment at both the San Luis Obispo and North County campuses compared to Spring 2025.

In addition to enrollment growth, Cuesta College continues to expand programming that serves learners of all ages—from first-time college students to adult and lifelong learners—strengthening connections between education, community, and opportunity.

Recent additions include new community programs at the North County Campus and an expanded free Emeritus Program classes in Los Osos, extending learning opportunities from youth enrichment to lifelong education.

Aligning Education with Regional Needs
Cuesta College continues to align instruction with the region’s workforce needs, particularly in healthcare, skilled trades, and emerging technologies. Through accelerated pathways, short-term training options, and strong community partnerships, the college is preparing students for in-demand careers while strengthening the Central Coast workforce.

“Our faculty and staff are deeply committed to meeting students where they are and responding to the needs of our region,” said Dean of Instruction Dr. Aubrey Priest. “These programs are designed to support student success while directly benefiting the communities we serve.”

Still Time to Enroll
Students can still enroll in Spring 2026 classes through Feb. 1 with instructor approval, and a variety of short-term classes are also available for those looking to get started or build new skills this semester.
