Consumer Information and Disclosures

The Higher Education Act of 1965 (HEA), as amended by the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008 (HEOA), includes many disclosure and reporting requirements that Cuesta College is required to distribute or make available to enrolled students, prospective students, employees, and the public.  The availability of information about Cuesta College is intended to increase its transparency to others.

Student Financial Assistance

 

The Net Price Calculator is reviewed and updated annually prior to the upcoming academic year using the most recent complete Management Information Systems (MIS) dataset available from the California Community College Chancellors Office (CCCCO), which is typically one year behind the current award year (e.g., 2024-25 data is available during the 2025-26 academic year). 

The Cohort Default Rate (CDR) is calculated by the U.S. Department of Education and represents the percentage of a school's federal Direct Loan borrowers who enter repayment during a federal fiscal year and default before the end of the second following fiscal year. As a result, the CDR is reported on a three-year cycle and is one measure of an institution's success in helping borrowers manage their student loan repayment obligations.

Cuesta College's most recent official CDR is the Fiscal Year 2022 Cohort Default Rate, which was released by the U.S. Department of Education in September 2025. The "2022" designation refers to the year borrowers entered repayment, not the year the rate was published.

Graduation and Transfer Rates for Students Receiving Athletically Related Student Aid

Graduation and retention rates must be provided to student-athletes, their parents, high school coaches, and guidance counselors when an athletically related student financial aid offer is made. Cuesta College does not offer financial aid to students based on athletic ability.
