Description/Additional information: Studio ADU Near Cal Poly + Optional Paid Respite/ Childcare Opportunity Hi! My name is Anna, and my husband is a professor in the Cal Poly business school. Beginning the rst week of September, we will have a private studio ADU available for rent at our home in San Luis Obispo, less than two miles from Cal Poly. The ADU has its own kitchen, bathroom and laundry. It is not pet friendly. It is fully permitted, and rents for $1,850 per month. We also have a separate, optional paid respite/childcare opportunity that might make this an especially good t for a Cal Poly or Cuesta child development or education student. Our 14-year-old son, Tobin, has Down syndrome and attends SLO High School. He has developmental and learning disabilities but no signicant behavioral challenges. He is an exceptionally sweet, social, and aectionate teenager. We are looking for someone who may be interested in spending approximately 5–10 hours per week with Tobin, depending on availability. This would be paid separately through respite at $30 per hour. The hours could involve spending time with him after school , on weekends or in the evening, helping with routines, and doing enjoyable activities together. We would love to nd a kind, dependable person who genuinely enjoys working with teenagers with developmental disabilities. Experience is helpful, but warmth, patience, and a desire to build a positive relationship with Tobin are most important. The rental and childcare arrangements are separate, so someone could be considered for either or both.
