SAN LUIS OBISPO – The Harold J. Miossi Art Gallery at Cuesta College is proud to announce the opening of High Tide on Friday, July 18, with a reception from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. This major group exhibition celebrates community spirit, mutual recognition, and artistic connection along California’s Central Coast.

Featuring over 60 local artists, High Tide unfolds through a unique curatorial approach: each participating artist was invited to nominate another local artist they admire. This ripple effect of appreciation and community-driven curation spotlights the rich network of friendships, collaborations, and creative exchange that define the region’s thriving arts scene.

High Tide is all about celebrating the amazing community and vibrant arts scene along California’s Central Coast,” said Tim Stark, Harold J. Miossi Art Gallery Coordinator. “It’s a chance for local artists to support each other – each artist invites a fellow artist they admire, creating a wave of appreciation and connection. It shows how collaboration and friendship fuel our creative spirit and keep our artistic community thriving.”

The exhibition runs from July 18 through August 22, with a closing celebration scheduled for August 14 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The Harold J. Miossi Art Gallery is in Room 7170 on the San Luis Obispo campus of Cuesta College. Admission is free, and parking is complimentary in Lot 2 during gallery events. Regular gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and by appointment.
