SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — The Harold J. Miossi Art Gallery at Cuesta College will present the Faculty Biannual, an exhibition showcasing new and recent work by Fine Arts faculty from Sept. 10 through Oct. 16, 2026.
Held every other year, the Faculty Biannual brings together the wide range of creative practices represented within Cuesta College’s Fine Arts program, including painting, photography, ceramics, printmaking, sculpture, graphic design, drawing, and more. The exhibition highlights the ongoing artistic practices of faculty members who bring their professional experiences into the classroom and their work with students.
“Artistic practice does not stop when an artist enters the classroom,” said Timothy Stark, Harold J. Miossi Art Gallery Coordinator at Cuesta College. “The Faculty Biannual gives our community an opportunity to see the work our faculty continue to create while also celebrating the ideas, disciplines, and creative approaches that they bring to their teaching.”
The exhibition also recognizes two longtime Fine Arts faculty members, David Prochaska and Margaret Korisheli, who will retire at the end of the 2026–2027 school year. Both have taught at Cuesta College for more than 20 years and have helped shape the experiences of hundreds of students through their teaching and commitment to the arts.

Faculty Panel and Opening Reception
The public is invited to an opening reception on Thursday, Sept. 10, from 4:30-7:30 p.m. A faculty panel will take place from 6-7 p.m. in Room 6304, offering an opportunity to hear directly from participating faculty about their creative practices and experiences as artists and educators.
The Harold J. Miossi Art Gallery’s exhibitions are funded through the endowment provided by the Harold J. Miossi Trust. The gallery also supports the Fine Arts Access Scholarship, which helps remove financial barriers for students pursuing an education in the arts. Unless otherwise noted, 10% of gallery artwork sales benefits the scholarship.
