Cuesta College’s Rodeo Club now sits at fifth best in the nation as it advances to the national intercollegiate competition.

The college is sending six rodeo student athletes to the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR) competition in Casper, WY, after qualifying at a regional competition in Las Vegas, NV. The team’s performance also moved Cuesta College from seventh best in the nation to sixth best. The national competition will take place June 12-18 and involve more than 400 rodeo student athletes from over 100 universities and colleges in the nation.

This is the second time the Cuesta College Rodeo Club has qualified for the national competition in as many years as its existence. The students heading to the national competition are:

 

  • Will Centoni – All Around Cowboy, Saddle Bronc Riding and Bull Riding
  • Aaron Williams - Bull Riding
  • Jake Gardner - Bull Riding
  • Tristan Ruffoni - Team Roping Heading
  • Dalton Pearce - Team Roping Heeling
  • Lane Lowry - Team Roping Heading
