Cuesta College is gearing up to host the 6th Annual Edúcate- Sí Se Puede (Spanish for ‘yes, it is possible’), an outreach conference for Latina and Latino high school students in San Luis Obispo County. The conference will be held on Friday, March 31, from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on the college’s San Luis Obispo Campus in the Cultural and Performing Arts Center. Organizers expect approximately 400 local students to participate. The students will hear from motivational speakers, obtain information on college entrance preparation methods, be provided instructions on applying for financial aid, and enjoy a free lunch.

“The goal is to expose students to inspiring Latino mentors and leaders, and we hope students leave knowing that college is for everyone, especially those who may never have been on a college campus before” said Cuesta College Dean of Student Services Catherine Riedstra.

Event sponsors include Wells Fargo, Cuesta College Foundation, Associated Students of Cuesta College, and Cuesta College Student Equity.
