All employees are eligible to invest a portion of their wages into a retirement investment via payroll deduction.
We are pleased to be able to offer the benefits of the voluntary pre-tax retirement investment plans for you because we recognize that many of you wish to defer current income taxes to your post retirement years, while accumulating additional savings for retirement.
We would like to make our employees aware of the retirement plans that we sponsor which include a 403(b) Tax Sheltered Annuity Plan and a 457(b) Deferred Compensation Plan (the Plans).
Participation is voluntary, allowing you to make pre-tax salary deferral contributions via payroll deduction.
Only you can decide if you should make contributions to a retirement investment plan. In making the Plans available to you, the District is simply acknowledging that many individuals want to accumulate retirement savings in addition to the income that will result from participation in CalPERS or CalSTRS. The availability of these plans is neither a recommendation nor endorsement by the District.
