SAN LUIS OBISPO – On August 10th, Cuesta College will play host to The Commanders Jazz Ensemble – a faction of The U.S. Air Force Band of the Golden West. The concert, free and open to the public, will take place at 7:00 p.m. in the Harold J. Miossi Cultural and Performing Arts Center located on the San Luis Obispo campus. Tickets for this event can be obtained online at http://bit.ly/CPACUSAF or on the Harold J. Miossi CPAC at Cuesta College Facebook page. Early registration is recommended.

“This is our only free show of the season, and we love that it provides an opportunity for community members to experience this incredible venue for the first time,” said Joan Hurwit, Harold J. Miossi CPAC Supervisor. “When we hosted the U.S. Navy’s Sea Chanters Chorus last year, it sold out well in advance for a good reason – it’s going to be an incredible evening!”

The musicians of The Commanders Jazz Ensemble are all active duty Airmen in the United States Air Force, sharing a passion for the smooth sounds of jazz and big band music. Their talents are many, and the swing won’t stop once the music starts. From traditional jazz to grooving bop, this event is sure to be fun for the entire family.

In support of official military recruiting and military relationships with the community, all eighteen members of The Commanders Jazz Ensemble are professional jazz musicians, bringing the patriotism of the Air Force to the public in a big and foot-tapping way.
