SAN LUIS OBISPO – Starting June 27th, the Harold J. Miossi Art Gallery at Cuesta College hosts an exhibition of photographs entitled Group Show. The exhibition aims to address and break down oppressive systems and mechanisms that infiltrate the art world - the artists' response to their experience within these structures. Narrative and subtle, the photographs document multiple realities of human experience.

“This exhibition strives to critique the over-explanatory and commercial art world while leaving warm and authentic spaces for the work to speak for itself,” said Emma Saperstein, Cuesta College Harold J. Miossi Art Gallery Coordinator. “Each artist’s work connects and weaves to each other’s, threading a cohesive story of engagement with the natural world, existential exploration, and the spiritual and solitary experience of being alive.

Group Show runs through August 9th and features the work of Brandy Eve Allen, Norelle Foster, Ida Islas, Cat Marcone, Gigi Petit, Aliza Shields, and Zstu Zstu. An opening reception will be held on June 27th from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. with an artist panel talk at 5:30 p.m. in the art gallery.
