The Cuesta College Friends of the Library annually sponsor a scholarship for students currently enrolled in Cuesta's Library/Information Technology program.

The "Lyn Vivrette Scholarship" is named in honor of Cuesta's first Library Director, Mr. Lyn Vivrette, who also started the Library Technology instructional program in the 1960s. The $500 scholarship is awarded once yearly to a qualified Library/Information Technology student.

Criteria includes:

  • 3.25 GPA in major
  • Completed 6 units in LIBT
  • Enrolled in minimum of 6 units within major
  • Financial need
  • Good character
  • Letter of reference from major department
  • Major: Library/Information Technology
  • Resident of Santa Barbara County or/Resident of SLO County

To Apply for the Cuesta College LIBT Scholarship:

Applicants should plan on beginning the application process early; the deadline each year for all scholarship applications is the first week of March.
