CalWORKs recipients who wish to receive an education have the right to do so in most cases, however, CalWORKs students also have a responsibility to continue to meet eligibility and other county requirements in order to maintain those rights.

Responsibilities

  • Complete Cuesta College CalWORKs Intake Process
  • Meet with an academic counselor to develop a Student Educational Plan (SEP)
  • Compliance with your Welfare-to-Work (WTW) or Self-Initiated (SIP) Plan
  • Meet academic progress standards
    • GPA of 2.0 or higher
    • 67% or higher completion of attempted credits each semester
  • Apply for financial aid
