Dear Students,

Cuesta College has been closely monitoring the changes to mask requirements from the CDC, California Department of Public Health and Cal/OSHA. These changes, and the significant improvement in the health metrics for San Luis Obispo County over the last two weeks, provide the opportunity to change the original mask requirements on campus set at the start of the Spring 2022 semester.

We have been masked for two years and being in the unmasked presence of others may be a significant transition mid-semester for some of you.

Effective March 14, 2022 masks will be encouraged indoors on campus and may be required in some areas. Signage will be posted on campus informing students and the public if masks are Required, Requested, or Welcome in indoor spaces.

If you are Required or Requested to wear a mask, please respond in a way that reflects your understanding and concern for the wellbeing of others and yourself, while respecting the choices of others. Masks will continue to be welcome on campus. As a reminder, Cuesta College students are to adhere to the Cuesta College Student Code of Conduct BP 5500.

Thank you for your continued efforts to maintain the health and well-being of our campus! We look forward to taking this big step forward together.

Respectfully,

Elizabeth Coria, Ed.D.
