05/06/2022

Dear Colleagues,

There have only been six students positive for COVID-19 over the last eight weeks. This is a drastic shift for the 9,450 students enrolled this term as there were 67 positive students in week one of spring 2022. Thank you for following Cuesta’s protocols and for your persistent efforts to keep our campus community healthy!

Big changes are on the horizon as Cuesta College moves into the next phase of our return to regular operations.

Effective May 21, 2022, the vaccine requirement will be rescinded. This means:

  • employees, students, and visitors will not need proof of vaccine or negative test to be cleared for campus;
  • Cleared4 will no longer be used;
  • testing is limited to cases of close contact as directed by Cuesta College or medical personnel including Public Health.

Masks will be welcome on campus regardless of vaccine status. Masks will be required to be worn by individuals identified as having close contact as directed by Cuesta College, medical personnel, or Public Health.

Cuesta’s Student Health Services will continue to provide support to students with symptoms of illness, including testing, from the Student Health Centers on the SLO and North County Campuses.

The CDC strongly recommends vaccine (with boosters) and masks as the most effective means of protecting your health and the health of others. SLO Public Health and local pharmacies provide free vaccines and you can quickly schedule an appointment here.

Kind regards,

Jill Signature
