SAFETY INFORMATION FOR IN-PERSON EVENTS
Welcome back to the CPAC! We are committed to ensuring you have an exceptional live performance experience, with confidence in the policies and procedures designed to keep our community safe.
Cuesta College’s top priority is to maintain the well-being and health of our students and employees, while supporting student completion of their educational goals. Constant communication with public health experts and the chancellor’s office to ensures that our campus is aligned with their recommendations, as the COVID-19 emergency requires ongoing changes to our campus operations.
The Board of Trustees approved Resolution 09-21 which states that, as of October 15, 2021:
Proof of vaccination OR a negative COVID-19 test result
within 72 hrs of the event is required to attend indoor events.
Masks are required for all indoor areas, regardless of vaccination status;
face coverings must cover nose and mouth at all times.
Please be prepared to arrive with enough time to pass through the verification checkpoint. Audience members must receive a wristband before approaching the box office or entering the lobby.
Proof of vaccination can include: a visitor’s physical vaccination card, a photo of their physical vaccination card, or their electronic vaccine card/digital record that includes a QR code. Proof of a negative COVID-19 test must include the date, name, and negative status of the visitor. Proof will not be retained or kept on file in any way.
Distribution of wristbands will indicate those who are approved to be admitted to the space, with no differentiation between having shown proof of vaccine OR a negative test. Anyone without a wristband will be unable to attend the event.
Masks are required for all indoor areas, regardless of vaccination status; face coverings must cover nose and mouth at all times. Masks are available upon request. The following are prohibited: masks with exhalation valves; masks made of loosely woven fabrics; scarves, buffs, bandanas, gaiters, and face shields alone (inadequate protection). People not wearing proper face coverings will be asked to leave campus.
IMPROVED AIR QUALITY
Cuesta College Safe Reopening Measures are being supported by two key elements: Bipolar Ionization Systems for HVAC airflow and Air Purifiers in common areas. The CPAC is thoroughly outfitted with both!
Just to include a few main features, the Bipolar Ionization Systems: supports particle reduction and smoke control, neutralizes odors by destroying VOCs, deactivates pathogens (Bacteria, Viruses, Mold), helps to control allergens/asthma; while new Air Purifiers have Medical Grade HEPA filters that effectively remove 95% of airborne viruses that are 0.1 microns and larger and efficiently removes a wide range of airborne pollutants and allergens, including dust, pollen, chemicals and gases.
In light of new guidelines from the County of San Luis Obispo Health Agency and Public Health Department, we have modified our practices on and off stage to still be able to offer tickets to in-person events. Most recently, this means that our singers will be wearing singing masks while performing, wind and brass musicians will perform with bell covers on their instruments, and everyone will be spaced at least six feet apart from each other. This also means that performers will maintain at least twelve feet from the audience, so the first several rows will be roped off and unavailable for seating.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as these policies evolve.
Purchasing a ticket to an indoor event confirms that you have read and agree to Cuesta College's safety measures.
