National Nurse Assistant Assessment Program (NNAAP)

The National Nurse Assistant Assessment Program (NNAAP) is designed to determine competency to become a state certified nurse assistant. The NNAAP consists of a both a written (or oral) exam and a skills evaluation, which must be completed on the same day. The Cuesta College North County campus in Paso Robles is a Northern California Regional Testing Center site for this exam.

Students enrolled in the CNA course at Cuesta take the NNAAP as part of the course and do not need to register for this exam separately. Non-students (who have previously completed a CNA course at Cuesta or elsewhere) who wish to take the NNAAP must first register online through the Northern California Regional Testing Center at Mission College, following the instructions below:

Test Day Instructions for NON-STUDENTS

The NNAAP for non-students takes place on Cuesta's North County Campus in Paso Robles. Check-in begins promptly at 8:00am. Park in Lot #11 and go to Building 2400. The test coordinator will meet you in the lobby of this building. Daily parking permits are required and can be purchased for $4 and can be purchased from the self-serve permit machines in the parking lot. Machines accept: One ($1) dollar bills only, Credit Cards, Apple & Android Pay. Testing typically ends between 2-3pm.

In addition to being offered through Mission College, the CNA exam is also offered through the Regional Testing Center at Golden West College in Huntington Beach, CA. Their nearest test site is in Oxnard. They can be reached by phone at (714) 895-8708 or online at regionaltestingcenter.org.
