  • Public Health Department is a division within the Health Agency and is responsible for protecting and improving the health of all San Luis Obispo County residents.
  • Tele-ER services are available with local doctors through Tenet Health by calling (805) 546-7990. Initial call is free of charge and they accept most insurance, including Medi-Cal. This is an excellent opportunity if you are unsure if you need emergency services. 
  • Family Doctor A valuable resource of information and advice on common healthcare problems and psychological care.
  • Go Ask Alice Columbia University's "Alice"" covers topics from basic health to STIs.
  • Health Line is a great resource that covers all things health including: Top Health News, Symptom Tracker, Body System outlines, and helpful articles. 
  • Medicine Net  is an online, healthcare media publishing company. They provide easy-to-read, in-depth, authoritative medical information for consumers via its robust, user-friendly, interactive website. Information on diseases, treatments, procedures, tests, and first aid resources.
  • The Body  An AIDS and HIV information resource. HIV-related information, news, support, and personal perspectives. They exist to educate the public and serve the HIV community.
  • The Mayo Clinic is a nonprofit organization committed to clinical practice, education and research, providing expert, whole-person care to everyone who needs healing.
  • WebMD provides valuable health information, tools for managing your health, and support to those who seek information. You can trust that their content is timely and credible.

  • Planned Parenthood is a trusted health care provider, an informed educator, a passionate advocate, and a global partner helping similar organizations around the world.   • The Center for Health and Prevention provides free to low-cost family planning services and reproductive/sexual health services to men, women, teens, and undocumented individuals.   • The Public Health Department provides friendly, confidential, free or low-cost reproductive and sexual health services and birth control for women, men and teens.   • Women and Substance Use - Discusses the signs, symptoms, and consequences that are unique to women, as well as how to find help.
  • How Substance Use Disorders Differently Affect Men and Women - Makes important conclusions about substance use disorders in men vs. women.
