The Plot’s the Thing!
We will be focusing on the heart of story and plot through readings of the greats, while tracking effective and lasting stories through their structure and applying that to our own writing. Studying both film and writing, we will examine the fundamentals of the human obsession with tales from their mythic beginnings. From Joseph Campbell to Frietag’s pyramid, together we will dissect the great stories and apply the lessons learned to our own narratives, which can be workshopped in class.
